3 Restaurants and Cafes That You Should Try in Antipolo, Rizal

Aside from Tagaytay, another place that is pretty accessible from Manila is Antipolo, Rizal. People go there for art, adventure and of course food trip. So in this blog, sharing to you restaurants and café’s I think you should try when in Antipolo. Note: In no particular order.

  1. Yellow Lantern Cafe

Yellow Lantern Cafe in Antipolo, Rizal

An open air restaurant that serves continental comfort food with a view of Metro Manila Skyline. This is café is budget friendly and they do have decent servings. Perfect for family or group.

Recommendations: Try their Umaapaw na Paella.

Tip: There are only few tables with a view, best to go early or try to book a reservation.

2. Maura’s Place by Mela and Mai

Maura's Place by Mela and Mai in Antipolo, Rizal

A breakfast and brunch al fresco restaurant with a view of the metro. They serve some of the Filipino breakfast favorites, pastas and pizzas.

What I love about Maura’s place is a more relaxed atmosphere combined with an unobstructed view of Metro Manila’s skyline. Check them out in FB: @MaurasPlaceph

Tip: They have an awesome view, perfect for sunset. If you want the table with the best view, best to book in advance.

3. Burrow Cafe

An underground café hidden in Antipolo Beehouse.  Burrow Cafe has a rustic finish that has a large window panels in one side with a view of a dense vegetation.

The café serve’s an all-day breakfast, lunch menu and vegan selection as well. We tried their Lechon Gising-Gising Bowl and Wine Braised Beef Cheeks.

We wanted to try their Sourdough Pizzas because we heard that it is a “must-try”. Unfortunately, it was out-of-stock during our visit. We did try their Burrow Sourdough Toast and House rolls, and we loved it.

Recommendations: Lechon Gising-Gising and their Sourdough Pizzas.

 

Tip: You need to go down a steps to the underground café. The stairs from the parking to the garden is a little bit uneven and slippery. Consider this when going with old people or those with disability. If you still want to try Burrow Café but unable to because of the stairs, they do accepts orders for pick-up or delivery.

HOW TO GET TO ANTIPOLO FROM MANILA

The fastest way to get to Antipolo from Manila is via car. From EDSA Northbound, exit Ortigas Ave. Then turn left at E. Rodriguez Ave. Follow the road until you reach Marcos Highway (R6). Turn right at Marcos Highway (R6) and drive straight to Antipolo.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN VISITING ANTIPOLO

  • Credit Card is widely accepted restaurants and other establishments. Cash basis in transportation fees.

  • There are plenty of ATMs in the area.

  • Signal is not a problem in Antipolo.

ANTIPOLO TRAVEL TIPS

  • Go as early as possible to avoid traffic.

  • Expect heavy traffic during weekends.

  • To avoid crowd, visit during weekdays.

  • Try Antipolo at night for the Manila Skyline view.

  • Do not forget to bring a jacket.
