JOSÉ Panglao is a Filipino restaurant that serves grilled food and Filipino favorites. Though slightly hidden it is just a few steps to Panglao Island Circumferential Road and near Alona Beach.
JOSÉ Panglao is an al fresco restaurant with a traditional or native design. With the grilling station is just beside the entrance under a tree. This really gives a provincial/island vibe.
Their specialty is grilled seafoods. But aside from grilled dishes, JOSÉ Panglao serve a wide range of Filipino Cuisines which includes: “silogs”, sisigs, kinilaw, goat delicacies, pancit and more.
We tried their Chicken Inasal (Paa). The char-grilled chicken was tender, moist and delicious. The portion was also decent sized. As always, a garlic rice is a perfect match for an Ihaw dish :D
Then I ordered my favorite dish when in Visayas or Mindanao region, Kinilaw or Sinuglaw. Since we already got an Ihaw dish, we opted to go for Kinilaw. The Kinilaw – Malasuge serving size was good for 2 to 3 people. The presentation was also good. However, I think the fish used was not that fresh. :(
Lastly, the service crew of JOSÉ Panglao was very accommodating and friendly which is also a plus.
Recommendations: grilled seafoods
Tip: You can customize your food since they are a “Paluto” type of restaurant.
