From Ittenbari Ramen & Chahan Restaurant we walked a few meters to Mametora Coffee Roasters. Situated in Akasaka, this small specialty coffee shop roast their own coffee using gas-fired roasters. Mametora Coffee Roasters specializes in pour over style for their coffee, the preferred method of coffee masters in Japan.
Mametora Coffee Roasters establishment has a small floor area but features a few seats, coffee beans area, the counter, coffee roasters and coffee bar/ kitchen. The coffee shop has a traditional Japanese shop atmosphere.
Mametora Coffee Roasters also has an extensive coffee beans selection sourced from various parts of the world. They also provide the order-roasted Mametora service, which involves roasting of beans per order.
Mametora Coffee Roasters has limited selection of hot and cold coffee drinks and a few sweets option.
For my Mametora Coffee Roasters experience, I’ve tried the Cold Brew Iced Coffee. It has a strong coffee taste but not bitter which I really liked.
Then, we also sampled their Today’s Specialty Coffee under the hot selection.
This was our first Japanese Specialty Coffee shop experience. Different from a typical coffee shops offering numerous coffee beverages, Mametora Coffee Roasters has a curated menu with limited coffee drink selection. They are focused on the coffee-making process to bring the best flavor from each coffee bean.
After our Mametora Coffee Roasters experience, we continued our DIY Tokyo Tour.
Recommendation: Cold Brew Iced Coffee
Tip: Mametora Coffee Roasters also offers a wide variety of coffee drip bags you can buy in store or online.
