Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria is a local Italian restaurant and sister restaurant of Mama Lou’s, specializing in Napoletana-style pizzas. We’ve visited their branch in Nuvali several times and are excited to share our food review of Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria.
The Nuvali branch of Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria has a limited dining space with few tables but it also offers an al fresco dining option. The interior of the restaurant has old Italian accent, which gives a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria serves gourmet Italian food, mainly focused on pizzas and pastas.
For appetizers, one of the must-try dish is the Mushroom Chicharon.
The Mozzarella Frittes, their version of mozzarella sticks, are impressively large.
We ordered the Insalata Cesare under the Insalata section. Nonna’s take on the classic Caesar salad.
We also tried several home-made pastas of Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria, starting with two types of ravioli. First one was the Wild Mushroom Ravioli,
and was Three Cheese Ravioli.
Next was the Salted Egg Radiatore.
Moving to the specialty of Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria, we ordered the Buratta Pizza, topped with a generous portion of buratta cheese. This was one of my favorite dishes in Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria.
For our second pizza, I believe this is called Pizza Espanyola.
We also tried the Napoletana Pizza Pepperoni, might be a new one as it wasn’t listed on the menu.
We has the chance to sample some of the mains of Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria. We tried the Osso Buco with Buttered Risotto.
Lastly, we tried the Porchetta Vegetables & Mashed Potatoes. Served with two slabs of roasted pork belly. We requested rice instead of Mashed Potatoes.
Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria offers delicious Italian dishes. Their crew are accommodating and attentive, which is also a plus. For me, the serving size of their pasta are ideal for one person only. The highlight dish was definitely the Napoletana pizzas. You should try Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria on your next trip to Nuvali.
Recommendations: My top pick would be the pizzas especially the Buratta Pizza. You should also try the Salted Egg Radiatore.
Tip: : If you prefer air-conditioned dining, visit earlier than usual or during off-peak.
