Café Causerie 1947 which re-opened last June 2021 is a French-inspired café housed in a red brick structure in Osaka. The name pays homage to the original café, which operated since 1947. Café Causerie 1947 which used the same structure and the old café vibe, is now operating in a modern way and run by 2 female baristas.
The dining area is divided into 2 sections: one part has several small tables, while the other half has a counter table seating. The red brick counter table enables you to see the coffee-making process or chat with the baristas, which adds to the overall coffee experience.
Aside from coffee, Café Causerie 1947 offers an array of food, pastries and desserts. They also serve alcoholic drinks.
For our Café Causerie 1947 experience, we’ve ordered a hot coffee. They used a coffee syphon to prepare the coffee.
We also tried the Crème Caramel which is similar to Leche Flan in the Philippines.
Also got the Ice Coffee, it was robust but with no bitter taste, which I like.
It was a unique experience. Upon stepping into Café Causerie 1947, the atmosphere shifted from the busy and vibrant ambiance of Shinsekai to a relaxed and nostalgic setting. A café that serves good cup of coffee and delicious desserts makes this a perfect spot to slow down and relax after exploring Shinsekai.
Recommendation: Crème Caramel is perfect with coffee.
Tip: Café Causerie 1947’s desserts and pastries looks delicious. Check out their IG @causerie1947
